Hangzhou Grand Canal Culture Strawberry Picking Festival 2018-11-16
If it's sweetness you are craving for, then head to the Grand Canal where the 9th Hangzhou Grand Canal Culture Strawberry Picking Festival will be held until March 26. During the festival, one can board a tourist boat and enjoy the beautiful views of the city’s most famous Grand Canal, sip a cup of tea in Lao Kai Xin Teahouse, or even visit Tangqi, an ancient town where a number of organic strawberries are waiting to be picked.

The tourist boats are available from Wulinmen Dock; they depart at 09:00 and return at 17:30. To set sail, a minimum of 10 passengers are required.

At 9 am
Set off from Wulinmen Dock and sail northwards where you will enjoy the beautiful views of the century-old Grand Canal and listen to the history and culture of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.

At 09:50 am
Arrive at Museum Dock, Gongchen Bridge, and take a leisurely tour around Qiaoxi Historic Block until reaching Lao Kai Xin Teahouse.

From 10:00 to 11:00
Drink Longjing green tea in Lao Kai Xin Teahouse whilst immersing your senses in the interesting intangible culture heritage “Xiao Re Hun”, a genre of popular entertainment consisting mainly of talking and singing, prevailing in the area of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai.

From 11:00 to 11:30
Take a tourist bus to Tangqi, Jiangnan’s ancient water town, and enjoy a meal in a Tangqi time-honored restaurant. Afterward, tour around Tangqi Ancient Town to view the grey-bricked and black-tiled Qing-style residential houses and savor the special snacks of the ancient town.

From 14:30 to 14:50
Head to the strawberry farm to pick organic strawberries, where pastoral views of fields and rivers abound.

From 16:30 to 17:30
