Broken Bridge

Lingering Snow on the Broken Bridge is a famous scenic spot of the West Lake, known for the view from afar of looming snow-covered bridge in winter. It is one of the top ten sights of West Lake. The Broken Bridge is the best place to appreciate the snowy West Lake. Besides, the famous Chinese folk legend "Legend of the White Snake" adds a sense of romance to the Broken Bridge.



Located on Yugu Road, Qingzhiwu is a village adjacent to the Yuquan campus of Zhejiang University. Buildings in the village are stylish and interesting. Along the mountain path, there are scattered houses with white walls and black tiles. A long stream flows down Lingfeng Mountain and passes through the village. Among the gurgling water, there is a trace of unique Jiangnan spirituality.

Maojiabu Scenic Area     

In ancient times, Maojiabu Scenic Area is the only way for pilgrims to enter Tianzhu Area from Hangzhou. A fun activity for one to be at one with nature here is bird watching on the banks. The south bank of Maojiabu is rarely visited, with dense reeds, thus, it has been a favorable nesting site for winter birds.

Prince Bay Park

Prince Bay Park is located in the southwest corner of the West Lake, under the Litchi Peak of Nanping Mountain. According to records, for its great environment, the place was chosen as the burial place of two princes named Zhuangwen and Jingxian of the Southern Song Dynasty. The park used to be a lake bay and over the years, mountain wind and rain have scoured out swamps and hollows. In recent years it was developed into a large pastoral park with charming mountain scenery.

The Meijiawu Tea Cultural Village has developed three historic and cultural attractions including the Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall, Langdangling Ridge and Li Geng Tang ritual hall. Take a broad view and you can see layers of lush green tea trees and smell the refreshing and pleasing tea leaves. A tea-picking tour in spring is the most amusing.

Qinghefang Street

Qinghefang Street is one of the most popular shopping areas in Hangzhou, gathered with more than 100 shops selling local snacks, time-honored brands, teahouses, pharmacy, silk, roasted seeds and nuts, antique calligraphy and paintings, etc. You can find old and famous stores such as Hu Qing Yu Tang, Weng Sheng Long Teahouse and Wang Xing Ji frequently visited by both tourists and locals.

Xianghu Lake

Known as the "sister lake" of the West Lake, Xianghu was once the hometown of a great poet named He Zhizhang in the Tang Dynasty. Li Bai, Lu You and other Chinese historical celebrities have created immortal poems here. There are a lot of antique buildings. The most important of all is that Xianghu Lake is rarely visited and very quiet, and birds and fragrant grass can be seen easily.
