Readwood Qiandao Villa – Medieval Style Castle 2019-06-04
Demand for a unique style of accommodation is on the rise. People are moving away from the more simplistic hotels and B&B’s in favour of experiencing luxurious and quirkier concepts.

Compared with other high-star hotels, Readwood • Qiandao Villa promotes the idea of understating life of luxury and focuses on infusing arts and nature into the hotel staying experience.

Upon entering the front gate of Readwood, what greets guests is a lush green lawn surrounding a giant waterfall, and straight trees flanking a path that leads towards a medieval European-style castle, which is the main construction of the hotel.

Readwood’s lobby is spacious with a large floor-to-ceiling bookshelf filled with a wealth of interesting reads. Lights made of hemp ropes by handicraftsmen are well-arranged and glow elegantly in the air. The beauty of art can be seen everywhere in the hotel. Rather than a hotel, you could say that Readwood is an art space infusing ancient elegance and modern aesthetics.

There are altogether 36 guestrooms of 20 room types in Readwood. Besides king-size bedrooms and standard rooms, there are also loft-style rooms, twin king-size bedrooms with large balconies and connecting rooms etc. Every room is equipped with advanced air-conditioners, central ventilation system, radiant floor heating, and HDTVs. The high-quality sanitary ware, bedding, bathing robes and slippers all perfectly demonstrate the brand of Readwood as a high-end, cozy boutique hotel.

The Readwood Full Day Restaurant located on the first floor of the hotel is a multi-function space combining dining, relaxation and social gatherings.  Its decoration features simple and modern industrial designs with round and cute warm lights hanging from the ceiling and wooden nautical-inspired furniture made from old fishing boats.

Here, you can sample a breakfast with strong local flavors, for example, Mi Geng (thick soup made of rice, dried vegetables and tofu, rice kuih and highland eggs). You can also enjoy the famous specialty of Qiandao Lake – organic fish head, special chicken stew, and farm-flavored pork. Guests can also sip a cup of coffee or tea to enjoy the leisure time in the afternoon.

On the first floor of Readwood, there is a large life experience hall where flower arrangement, tea ceremonies, and cookery classes are available. Whether you are a child or an adult, Readwood will bring out your love for nature. To give children a most perfect vacation experience, the hotel also has a child-friendly cinema, picture book zone and adventure playground.

On the lawns, an outdoor cinema and interesting exhibitions are on show from time to time. In addition, there is a large swimming pool where the water is sourced directly from the amazing Qiandao Lake.
