The scenic areas of Hangzhou are divided into several types in accordance with the characteristics of their style, such as the West Lake Scenic Area themed with the highlights of Hangzhou scenery, the Grand Canal Scenic Area featuring the history and culture of the Canal in Hangzhou, and the satellite city scenic area including the highlights of Linping, Xiaoshan, Linan and Tonglu. The tea plantations scenic area is characteristic of the tea culture of China. These different scenic areas together give prominence to Hangzhou as a tourist destination of China.
