Hangzhou’s Night Views During Spring Festival 2017-05-11
During the Spring Festival, Hangzhou’s light shows and music fountains have changed their schedules. For those wanting to witness Hangzhou’s illuminating and cascading shows then the following guide is not to be missed.

Landscape Lights



During the Spring Festival, all landscape lights such as those around the West Lake and along Grand Canal will continue to light up Hangzhou.
There are two categories of Hangzhou’s Landscape Lights, among which, Class I Landscape Light is mainly used to show the stunning night views of the city, and Class Ⅱ Light is applied to outline the shape of the city which is applied only on the city’s landmark architecture or skyline. During the festival, it’s the Class I Landscape Light that will illuminate the town.

1. West Lake Area
West Lake Area Landscape Lights cover the north, south and west section of the West Lake as well as the three islets inside the lake. These lights will be switched on from 18:00 to 24:00 on January 27 and 18:00 to 22:00 from January 28 to February 2.

2. Grand Canal Area
The Project of Grand Canal Landscape Lights is the largest lighting-up project of Hangzhou. These landscape lights will be switched on from 18:00 to 24:00 on January 27 and 18:00 to 22:00 from January 28 to February 2. During Spring Festival, the Grand Canal night cruise will still be running and people can take cruising boats at Wulinmen Dock every day at 19:30.

1. Qianjiang New City Light Show

18:30 and 19:30 on January 27 (Chinese New Year’s Eve), January 28 (Spring Festival) and January 31

2. Qianjiang Banks Light Show (Shangcheng Section and Binjiang Section)
18:30 and 19:30 on January 27, January 28 and January 31

3. Wulin Square Light Show
20:00 on January 27, January 28 and January 31

Music Fountain



1. West Lake Music Fountain

19:00 and 20:00 every day

2. Wulin Square Music Fountain
19:30 and 20:30 on January 27, January 28 and January 31

3. Qianjiang New City Music Fountain
18:30 and 19:30 on January 27, January 28 and January 31

2017 Qiantang River Tidal Bore Watching Guideline2017-09-22
Qiantang River is the largest river in Zhejiang Province and empties itself into the Eastern China sea through Hangzhou Bay. The Qiangtang River tidal bore is a world-renowned spectacle and is reputed as the "No. 1 Tidal Bore in the World". The Qiantang River tidal bore, often reaching heights of three meters, results from the gravitational forces and the rotation of the earth, and the fact that Hangzhou Bay is shaped like a trumpet.

The 2017 International (Hangzhou) Trail-walk Conference2017-09-22
According to the news conference of 2017 Internatioanl (Hangzhou) Trail-walk Conference, this year’s trail-walk event will take place on October 28 in Jianggan Sports Center. Registration will be available for three days starting from September 28.
