Hangzhou Metro to Begin its Third Phase 2017-05-11
What are the specific stations and their locations in the Hangzhou metro third phase project? What is the time period of the construction project? Now the answers to these questions, most concerned by Hangzhou citizens, can be found in the notice released recently by Hangzhou Metro.

On December 22, NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission) announced the Third Phase Construction Plan of Hangzhou Metro (2017-2022). In the document, it released the construction plan and the layout diagram of the construction project; meanwhile the routes, the name and the location of the stations have been released.

According to the general Hangzhou urban master plan and the comprehensive transportation plan, in 2025 Hangzhou metro will consist of 10 lines with a total length of 423.5 km, 189 regular stations and 39 transfer stations. The future network system network (ten to fifteen years later) will consist of 14 lines with a distance of 642.2 km, 228 regular stations and 82 transfer stations. It is expected that in 2025, public transportation will make up 40% of the total traffic, among which the metro will form 30% of public transportation.

In 2022, a metro network system of 10 lines and a total length of 387.8 km will take shape.

The third phase of Line 1 stretches from Binjiang Xiasha to Xiaoshan Airport, 11.5 km long with 4 stations. The planned construction period is 2017-2020.

Hangzhou Subway Line One

The third phase of Line 2 stretches from Xinliang Road to Liangzhu Station, 1.6 km with one station. The planned construction period is from 2017-2020.

The first phase of Line 3 main section is from West Wenyi Road to Xingqiao Road, the branch section is from Xiaohe Mountain to Baijiayuan Station. The project covers 52.2 km and 33 stations. The planned construction period is from 2017 to 2021.

The second phase of Line 4 stretches from Pengbu to Zijingang, 23.4 km with 14 stations. The planned construction period is from 2017 to 2022.

The second phase of Line 5 stretches from Central Park to Lvting Road Station, 3.2 km, two stations. The planned construction period is from 2017 to 2020.

The second phase of Line 6 stretches from Fengbei to Dongning Station, 8.3 km, five stations. The planned construction period is from 2017 to 2022.

The second phase of Line 7 stretches from Wushan Square to Second Jiangdong Road Station, 45 km, 22 stations. The planned construction period is from 2017 to 2021. The construction plan and the bypass operation plan will be optimized in order to carry out a fast connection to the airport.

The first phase of Line 8 stretches from South Wenhai Road to Jiangdong Road Station, 17.2 km, eight stations. The planned construction period is from 2018 to 2022.

The first phase of Line 9 south section stretches from Sijiqing to Coach Center, and the north section is from Linping to Changda Road. The total length is 17.8 km with 14 stations. The planned construction period is from 2017 to 2022.

The first phase of Line 10 stretches from ZJU to Xinxing Road Station, 15.9 km, 12 stations. The planned construction period is from 2018 to 2022.

What’s more, in the document it indicates that the project shall be constructed strictly according to the accredited plans, any arbitrary changes are not allowed. The construction shall be well engaged with Xiaoshan International Airport, Hangzhou Railway Station, Hangzhou East Railway Station and Hangzhou West Railway Station which will start building commencement in 2017. The transfer facilities shall be constructed at once but can be put into use, stage by stage.

According to the news conference of 2017 Internatioanl (Hangzhou) Trail-walk Conference, this year’s trail-walk event will take place on October 28 in Jianggan Sports Center. Registration will be available for three days starting from September 28.
