You will be taken from Hangzhou to Wuzhen Water Town for the day’s tour. Wuzhen lies in the far northeast of Zhejiang province, about 90 minutes by car from Shanghai. For Wuzhen, the name “Water Town” is especially appropriate. Besides lying on the Grand Canal, Wuzhen is completely encircled by two rivers: the Dong Shi River and a smaller tributary flowing into the Dong Shi. Enjoy the highlight of this trip: a wooden boat cruise into Wuzhen Water Town. The Wuzhen wooden boat takes a maximum of six people and the cruise lasts about 20 minutes. Tourists can enjoy the atmosphere of traditional culture and the original, well-preserved ancient features of the town, elegant views of the water and the strong, locally flavored traditions and customs.
Today we will take you to Hangzhou's most beautiful and most famous attraction: West Lake. Soak up the scenery and culture alike with such attractions as the Su Causeway, a boat cruise on West Lake and a visit to the Xiling Seal Engravers Society.
Su Causeway: Walking along the Su Causeway will give you the best chance to be close to the lake. Here you can enjoy the different scenes in different seasons. Come in spring for its willows tossing amidst blooming peach flowers; come in summer for warm breezes bringing the fragrance of lotus flowers; come in autumn for its crisp air and blazing foliage, and come in winter for its enthralling white satin spreading through the area.
Hangzhou West Lake (a boat cruise on West Lake is included): West Lake has an area of 5.6 square kilometers and is the symbol of Hangzhou, a city lying at the banks of West Lake, and is a place of tranquility. A visit to “Three Pools Mirroring the Moon” — Top Ten Views of West Lake is worth it. The occasional pagoda and Chinese-style arched bridges add a whimsical atmosphere to the tree-lined walkways, verdant islands and hills—elements that combine to make West Lake a very special part of any experiences in China.
Xiling Seal Engravers Society is just a short walk from West Lake over the Xiling Bridge and is noted throughout China for its study of epigraphic art. While here, visit the Chinese Seal Museum, a notable place of interest.
