West Lake Customized Bus – Signature Sights at Every Stop 2019-11-06
April is the best time to tour Hangzhou. Recently, Hangzhou has opened a new customized tourist bus route No. 9, which only runs on weekends from Hangzhou East Railway Station to West Lake Scenic Area. The customized bus is really a treasure route for touring West Lake, which has few passengers, but also very fast. Most important of all is that wherever you get off, you can have the most classic touring experience in Hangzhou.

Children’s Palace
After getting off, you will see the Broken Bridge which is famous for the love story of “White Snake Legend" carrying the thoughts and memories of lots of people. Every year in summer when the inner West Lake lotus in full bloom at the west side of the Broken Bridge, it is really a charming scene of verdant lotus leaves stretching to the horizon and the blossoms incredibly red in the sunshine. In snowy winter, lingering snow on the Broken Bridge is extremely beautiful.
Geling Peak
Geling Stop is in Beishan Street where West Lake is on the left hand, the Republic of China buildings on the right. There are classic buildings such as Sea Salt Pavilion, Baoqing Villa, Xiaofeng Bookstore. Of course, the most important thing to get off at this stop is to climb the Precious Stone Hill. Even those who do not like mountain climbing will choose to come here to overlook the panorama of West Lake. The Baochu Pagoda overlooks West Lake; No matter sunrise or sunset, it is a feast for the eyes.
Yue Fei’s Temple and Tomb
The stop is at the end of Beishan Street. First, of course, to see the Yue Fei’s Temple. To visit the temple is more meaningful than to view the scenery. Opposite the temple is Su Causeway where you can stroll around. It is less crowded than the Broken Bridge and very comfortable to walk around in the spring. Lined with beautiful willow trees and six bridges, Spring Dawn at Su Causeway is not called in vain.
Hangzhou Botanical Garden
Out of Beishan Street and into Lingyin Road, it's great for both walking and cycling. Cars are less than cars in Beishan Street so it is less noisy. The Botanical Garden in spring is worth a visit. It has any flowers that you can name. There are also verdant trees and a large area of lawns to sit on. You can have a picnic on the lawn, of course. Lay out a nice picnic blanket and some nice cutlery and food. What could be more relaxing than having a picnic and enjoying the flowers?
Lingyin Temple East
At this stop, of course, a must-visit is the most popular temple, Hangzhou - Lingyin Temple. The Linyin Temple and Peak Flying from Afar scenic area is full of lush trees and plants. Take your time and you will encounter with a master or monk.
Lower/Middle/Upper Tianzhu
These three stops are said to be the most secluded areas except Lingyin Temple. Along the north Meiling Road, there are three-thousand-year-old temples built among mountains - the Upper Tianzhu Faxi Temple, the Middle Tianzhu Fajing Temple and the Lower Tianzhu Fajing Temple, which are called "three Tianzhu" temples. The three temples are not far apart. Although not as famous as Lingyin Temple, Hangzhou locals like to come here to pray.
It is the last stop of the customized bus. There are also two options after getting off the bus. One is the main road to Meijiawu. The other is a special recommended smallest village hidden in the mountains by the West Lake - Xiaoyawu. If you want to experience a standard teahouse, walk along the main road for 5 minutes to Meijiawu. For locals and foreign tourists to Meijiawu, a must-do is to taste Longjing Tea and enjoy a farmhouse meal.
