Tour Hangzhou during National Day Holiday 2017-09-27
As the back garden of Shanghai, and with pleasant weather of around 25 degrees, now is the best time to travel around Hangzhou. But, from another perspective, it is also the high time of surging crowds, so to travel freely in Hangzhou then the following places should not be avoided.


 Yuhu Bay, a secluded West Lake 

Besides the West Lake, there is also Yuhu Bay which is known for its fewer people. It borders Yanggong Causeway in the east, neighbors Santaishan Road in the west, abuts Santai Mengji Scenic Area in the north and adjoins Chishanbu in the south. Here, the air is fresher and the environment is more silent.

Rather than the West Lake, Yuhu Bay enchains the silence in the curved lakeshore line with subtle waves. You also can appreciate the traces of the literati painters along the quiet lake, such as Huang Gongwang, Zhang Yu and so on but, on the condition that you should come earlier or later than others.

 Xianghu Lake, the sister lake of the West Lake 

Xianghu Lake, as the sister of the West Lake, has a lower reputation than the West Lake but owns its unique charm for originating the Zhejiang civilization. Here, one can find an eight-thousand- year-old boat, green grassland and water rippling to the cool breeze. You can go boating on the surface of the lake whilst appreciating its antiquity. On rainy days, the lake oozes charm with the reflection of the mountains.

 Meijiawu, full of the authentic fragrance of tea 

When it comes to tasting tea, most people may first think of Longjing Village, which is well-renowned for its Longjing Green tea. In Hangzhou, besides the Longjing Village, Meijiawu is also an excellent place to immerse oneself in the authentic air of tea.

Spending a full day in Meijiawu, which is embraced by layers of green tea mountains, is a leisurely choice. Sitting in front of the luxuriant tea trees, you can sip the green tea and indulge yourselves in the slow pace of the village. In the morning, get up early, and with the warm sunbeam around the village, you can take a deep breath in the tea garden and fill your eyes with the refreshing greens of the tea trees.

 Jiangyangfan Ecological Park, a unique wetland landscape 

In Hangzhou, Xixi Wetland Park is a must for appreciating the wetland landscapes, however, this holiday you do not have to squeeze yourselves into a crowed to see the natural landscapes. Jiangyangfan Ecological Park is also a recommended place for witnessing the multi-layered wetland landscapes, including wet forest, shallow waters, lakes, ponds and so on.

Here, flora and fauna live freely and in harmony. It is quite suitable for family, especially for children who need to be taken away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

 Changle Forest Farm, the most beautiful place to feel the autumn in Hangzhou 

In terms of autumn, the first scene to appear in peoples’ minds is a golden world. This holiday, you can ramble on such a romantic road in Dayu Valley, which is almost 6 kilometers away from the old Yuhang Town.

Abutting Jingshan Temple, Baishui Brook, Shuangxi Rafting, Yuhang Old Town Scenic Area, it is an excellent placeto relax and enjoy yourself.

Here, the road is paved with a blanket of red leaves that rustles as Children run along the lakeside. Fabulous though the scenery is, do not forget to carry more clothes for the weather can be cooler in autumn.

For those who like to dig deep into the culture, these places are recommended: Qiushui Mountain Villa, Hu Xueyan Former Residence, Ge Jiaotian Former Residence, Du Jingsheng Former Residence, Yu Qian Former Residence and so on. In addition, the old campuses in Hangzhou are also worth noting, and for those who like to trace back the history, the Bread Mountain Community will not disappoint, as it is full of the cultural ambience with the old railways and houses. To travel back in time, you also can take the green trains to Qiaosi in Nanxing Bridge Train Station.
