The Six Harmony Pagoda

This ancient pagoda, near the Qiantang river, was built in the 10th century. “Liuhe”originates from a religious doctrine of Buddhism, and the structure's purpose of being built was to suppress the Qiantang river's enormous tide. This pagoda is about 60 meters high, with 7 floors of timber work outside, and 13 floors of masonry construction inside. The Liuhe pagoda was once used as a lighthouse to guide ships through the night.
