A Guide for Flower Lovers 2018-05-31
Plum blossoms are drawing crowds to Hangzhou Botanic Garden, Gushan Island in the West Lake, Xixi Wetlands and Chaoshan Scenic Area.

After the plum, peach, cherry, tulip and azalea will come into bloom one by one, turning many gardens and parks into a paradise for flower lovers.

The West Lake scenic spot called Orioles Singing in the Willows as well as Wushan Square, Hupao Road, Yanggong Causeway, Santai Hill, Maojiabu and Taiziwan are popular venues to see cherry blossoms.

Taiziwan is a park that holds the tulip show every year in March and April. In late April, people go to Gushan Island, Lingyin Temple, Hangzhou Botanic Garden and Wansong Academy to appreciate azalea flowers.

Summer is the flowering season of lotuses and water lilies. They are best viewed in the West Lake area, while Hangzhou Flower Nursery on Xishan Road is the place to admire colorful Chinese roses.

In Autumn, osmanthus and chrysanthemum come into bloom everywhere in the city, but the best places to enjoy the sweet fragrance of osmanthus flowers are Hangzhou Botanic Garden, Children’s Park, Meijiawu, Lingyin Temple, Li’an Temple and Yuhuangshan, while the botanic garden, Hangzhou Flower Nursery, and Jiangyangfan Park have the best chrysanthemum displays.
