Best BBQs in Town… 2017-06-27
As Hangzhou, at this time of year, is characterized by pleasant weather, fragrant aromas and sensational seasonal views it is the best time to explore the city’s nature spots and indulge in barbecue time.


Barbecue is a pleasant way to enjoy this autumnal season, to savor an assortment of grilled food and to appreciate Hangzhou's endless views. In and around Hangzhou there are plenty of such places and below are just some of the stylish BBQ venues in town. Hitting any of the following is sure to set your soul alight.


Xixi Tai Mei Farm (西溪太美农场)


Tai Mei Farm is located inside the Xixi National Wetland Park and its environment and scenery are both extraordinary. Here, you can spend some quality time with family and friends by experiencing farm life whilst also soaking up the natural atmosphere.

The farm has a BBQ area which provides a number of basic BBQ ingredients however if you prefer a more varied grill then feel free to bring your own selection of produce. The farm provides fruit and ice-cream as well as parasols, cutlery and crockery.

In addition to BBQ, inside the farm, one can also plant vegetables, feed rabbits and purchase farm- grown produce.


Address: 100 meters south of the intersection of West Wen’er Road (文二西路) and Fangxi Road (访溪路), Hangzhou

Traffic: Take Bus No. 83, 382, 450 and 785 to the bus stop of Wuchang (五常) or Nan Gao Qiao (南高桥)

Fee: The cost to purchase ingredients inside is 88 RMB per person which includes ten different kinds of meat and seven different kinds of vegetable; the BBQ stove is free and can accommodate three to four people at any one time and basic condiments, oil and BBQ tools are also provided.

Bring your own food (BYO): 198 RMB to rent a BBQ stove for six people.


Lemon Tree BBQ


Lemon Tree BBQ is situated right beside water and surrounded by mountains, gurgling streams, chirping birds and a forest burnished gold from the autumn sun.

Besides the outdoor BBQ there is also an inside separate kitchen and after a satisfied meal you can stroll along the stream and even catch river snails, crabs, shells and other fish, either way with several friends and ingredients in tow your BBQ party is sure to be a hot success.


Address: Pingfeng Campus of Zhejiang Industry University (free parking is available)

Traffic: Take bus No. 310, 193 and 853 to the bus stop of Shuikou (水口)

Fee: The cost is 80 RMB to rent a BBQ stove for four to five people and 10 RMB per person for site cleaning fee.


Raku Forest Restaurant


If you don’t feel like dining alfresco then head to Raku Forest Restaurant which offers a comfortable dining environment and the chance to be at one with nature. Unlike the majority of restaurants situated in urban areas Raku Forest Restaurant is hidden amongst dense forest.

The restaurant features wooden architecture that blends perfectly into the surrounding environment. Besides BBQ they also offer Japanese dishes as well as small-scale wedding ceremonies, themed parties and child-parent activities.

Traffic: Take bus No. 9, 133 and B1 to the bus stop of Sen Lin Gong Yuan (森林公园).

Fee: The cost is 100 RMB for a BBQ stove and condiments are included; BBQ ingredients can be purchased in the restaurant or BYO (bring your own).
