Romance the Day the Artistic Way 2017-07-12
When we think of Valentine’s Day, be it the Chinese or Western version we always think of romance, such as a candlelight dinner in a fancy restaurant, a love story screened at the local cinema or a gentle stroll along some of the city’s most romantic paths. However if you or your loved one prefer to romance the day in more artistic ways, then the following two recommendations may just be what you are looking for.  

For those in search of a unique way to celebrate this year’s Chinese Valentine’s Day then look no further as Hangzhou, for a short time only, will be inviting you to animate and amuse yourselves in a world of film, photography and art.


OMG International Movie & Animation Themed Photo Studio

For the first time ever three comic giants: Disney, Marvel’s and Pixar have come together to form a unique event in which displayed over eight zones are characters from some of the hottest cartoon animations. So for some show stopping entertainment then Mickey Mouse, Disney Princesses, Frozen, Finding Nemo, Big Hero 6, Spiderman, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers are just some of the popular names to be hitting Hangzhou’s Zhejiang Museum of Natural History this summer.


In the museum’s photo studio classic scenes from the movies will be recreated to provide adults and children alike a chance to experience their dream in reality - to travel in the world of cartoon and animation and have precious photos taken with some of their all-time favorites.

Besides being snapped next to Elsa, Mickey and Spiderman, one can also dress up in authentic Disney costumes to perform comic role plays and there are also all kinds of Disney goodies waiting to accompany you home too.

Illusion 3D Art Exhibition

Illusion Art originated in Europe with artists drawing their work on street pavements for all to see and appreciate. For those still new to the concept, 3D art refers to any artistic effect that gives viewers the illusion of being three-dimensional - tricking people’s eyes and creating a surreal impression. Viewers can simply admire such artistic displays or pose next to them making them seem even more convincing and real.


The Preexistence Mirror

The 3D Illusion Art Exhibition in Hangzhou features a host of such paintings and the exhibition, once a craze in Japan, Korea, America and Europe, has this year made its way to Hangzhou taking its locals and thousands of visitors on a journey of illusion and fun.
