Despite being afflicted by poverty and sickness during most of his lifetime, Van Gogh’s work presents his colorful and sensitive inner world that weaves itself out in his paintings, and to fully demonstrate the features of Van Gogh’s paintings, new and expressive visual technologies have been employed.
Breaking the norm of traditional museum and art gallery numbers, the exhibition boasts of 3000 Van Gogh images on display at an enormous scale, presented on giant screens, ceilings, walls, columns and the floors with the accompaniment of vibrant music. Instead of tiptoeing and viewing from afar, visitor can view the paintings close up and intimately. Photographs and videos show augmented versions of his work to enable visitors to better explore sources of his inspiration.
Recently, the city of Hangzhou was advertised in The Wall Street Journal and USA Today, and the ten-thousand-people time travel record of Hangzhou’s Song Dynasty Town has also been publicized in New York’s Times Square.
