Hot on the Trail of Mutton 2018-05-31
Mutton, known for its heat inducing properties, is an essential winter food for the Chinese. According to an old Chinese saying if you eat a sheep in winter, then you will never feel the cold. A warm hearted tale that leads us to Cangqian Yuanguo, a village in Hangzhou, widely known for its Taoyuanguo, a unique kind of mutton hot pot. It is no wonder with a history of over 100 years and with a number of ‘sheep’ parts in its ingredients that every winter, thousands of people flock to this village hot on the trail for this steaming creation. 



This November and for one whole month, Cangqian Yuanguo Village will hold its ninth annual festival of Mutton Hot Pot (Taoyangguo). More than 100,000 people are expected to flock to the town in order to savour its famous Taoyangguo and more than 29 restaurants will be serving this notorious dish.

Price: Taoyangguo for 6-10 people: 660 Yuan; for 3-6: 480 Yuan; for 2-3: 280 Yuan

Registration for 2018 Hangzhou Marathon Begins2018-08-16
The organizing committee of the 2018 Hangzhou Marathon held its first pre-race press conference recently, announcing that this year's event is scheduled for 7:30 on Nov 4th. Registration officially will start at 10:00 on August 16th and will last until 5:00 p.m. on August 30th.
