Peonies in Hangzhou are in full bloom 2017-06-27

Since ancient times, the peony has been enjoying a high prestige in Chinese culture. Literary works and paintings about the flower are numerous. In China, it's renowned as "the Flower of Riches and Honor" and "King of the Flowers". As an ornamental plant, its beauty also catches thousands of people’s heart.

 

Every year, peony exhibition is held in Pagoda of Six Harmonies. The peony plantation in Pagoda of Six Harmonies is over 3,000 square meters and 136 species have been grown in the plantation. This year’s peony exhibition starts from April 10. During the exhibition, there are four performances of peony tea ceremony available every day. Visitors can climb Pagoda of Six Harmonies, view beautiful peonies and taste tea.

 

 

In addition, 40-50 percent of peonies in Baocheng Temple (宝成寺) on Wu Hill and Viewing Fish at Flower Pond are in full bloom. They are also nice places to view peonies in Hangzhou.
