Brief of Longjing Eight Sights

Longjing Eight Sights are located in the valley northeast of Longjing Temple and adjacent to the West Lake in the north. In the Qing Dynasty Emperor Qianlong made six inspection tours in Jiangnan (regions south of the Yangtze River). Attracted by the reputation of Longjing landscape and tea, he visited Longjing for four times to appreciate beautiful scenery and taste tea, during which time he created eight poems for Longjing and inscribed personally “龙井八景” that means the “Longjing Eight Sights” . 

The Longjing Eight Sights include Fenghuangling(风篁岭), Guoxiting Pavilion (过溪亭), Fangyuan’an Hut (方圆庵), Shenyunshi Stone(神运石), Dixinzhao Pond (涤心沼), Yipianyun Rock (一片云), Longhongjian Gully (龙泓涧) and Cuifengge Pavilion (翠峰阁).
