Liangzhu Cultural Relics was discovered in 1936 and is actually the generic term of relics in Liangzhu, Pingyao, Anxi three towns. It was the habitat of late Neolithic human in the period of 3300 B.C. to 2000 A.D.
Liangzhu Cultural Relics is the representative one of its kind in the regions of lower reaches of Yangtze River, with an area of about 34 square kilometers. It was inscribed into the tentative list of Chinese World Cultural Heritage in 2012 and is going to declare world cultural heritage in 2016.
