    Brief of Guangji Bridge

Shining like a rainbow across the Grand Canal, Guangji Bridge is the only surviving seven-arch stone bridge of its kind to mount the old canal.

As the largest stone bridge with thin piers, in 1989 it was listed as one of Zhejiang provinces key cultural relics and in 2014 was recorded into the world cultural heritage as an integral part of the Grand Canal.

The bridge is said to be built in the Tang or Ming dynasty and today provides those who climb its steps, a spectacular panoramic view of Tangqi Water Town.

The bridges charm is its simplicity and with the tranquil water of the river flowing beneath, it is definitely worth a visit, soaking up the town’s long history and profound culture.
