Located in subtropical zone with four distinct seasons, Hangzhou is endowed with a favorable climate, fertile land and rich resources which in turn make it the favorite in history. Noted as one of ‘Seven Ancient Capitals in China’, Hangzhou has served as the capital for two nations: one is the Wuyue Kingdom (907–78) during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period under the name of Xifu and the other is ancient China during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) with the name of Lin’an.
