  • Dream Village, the pilot zone of the 100 characteristic towns promoted in Zhejiang Province, was established on March 28. The notion of characteristic towns refers to not just an industrial area geographically but a conception based upon a certain industry by combining efficient production, life convenience and wonderful natural environment.

    Located inside Zhejiang Hangzhou Future Sci-tech City in the west of Hangzhou downtown, next to Xixi National Wetland Park, Dream Village is 9 km from West Lake and 4 km from Zhejiang University, featuring convenient transportation, picturesque environment and strong science and technology support. Covering an area of 3 sq km, Dream Village is composed of Internet Village and Angel Village, with Internet Village focusing on the research, development and production of internet-related products such as e-commerce, software design, information service, mass date and cloud computing etc. and Angel Village on finance, investment and wealth management etc.

    In addition, Dream Village offers multiple choices of restaurants, hotels as well as entertainment facilities like gyms and libraries. The place is a gathering place of young entrepreneurs where they can sail towards the dream.
  • Dubbed ‘Silicon Valley in China’, Cloud Town is located inside Zhijiang National Tourist Resort Area of Hangzhou. Surrounded by verdant mountains and with river flowing through, Cloud Town resembles the Silicon Valley in landscape, and it’s the 1st ecological town for cloud computing industry in China, contributing as well to the nickname.

    With cloud computing its focus and with the support of Ali Cloud and Zhuantang Technology and Economic Park, the Cloud Town aims to form a complete cloud computing industry chain covering the development of APP, online games, internet finance and mobile internet etc. In its 2.27 sq km land area, an over 5000 sq m museum boasting of the development of IT industry with cloud computing the focus will be set up and the Ali Cloud Technology Academy will also be founded to provide venue for computer technology training and communication. So far, Cloud Town has become the permanent venue of Ali Cloud Developer Conference.
  • Fund Town in Hangzhou has remarkable resemblance to Greenwich in United States in many aspects like the location, industry, natural environment and culture.   • Just like other characteristic towns, Xixi Valley boasts of wonderful natural and academic environment, bordering Xishan National Forest Park and West Lake Scenic Area on the south, Xixi National Wetland Park, Xixi Brook and Higher Education Park on the north. The project of Xixi valley started in 2008 and currently has become home to over 500 high-tech enterprises, among which are Alibaba Payment and the research center of Space Communication Technology of China Aerospace Science & Industry Corp. In addition, Xixi Valley is also home to a large number of cultural and historical relics.
  • Sensor valley is a paradise for sensor businesses. The project is promoted by Qianjiang Economic Development Zone, with the support of German Association for Sensors and Measurement and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC. The place endeavors to found an international comprehensive base for sensor industry combining development, certification, employment, production, test, trade and service.

Zhejiang Overseas High-level Talents Innovation Park

Zhejiang Overseas High-level Talents International Park is situated at West Wenyi Road, in the technology and creative industry area of Hangzhou city, and has a planning area of 10,000 sq m. It was set up in July 2007 as a personnel reform and development area, which is an entrepreneurial innovation highland to gather overseas high-level talents. Three notable features of the park lie in the following aspects. Firstly, its primary goal is to introduce high-level talents from overseas. Secondly, it is backed by Zhejiang province’s economic advantage. Thirdly, a whole new mechanism of introducing and applying talents is adopted. Superior location, beautiful environment and perfect supporting facilities attract many entrepreneurs here to start their business.

Hangzhou Economic & Technological Development Area

Hangzhou Economical Development Area is the only national development area integrated with industrial zone, higher education zone and export processing zone which is approved by the State Council in 1993. It is delegated to administer two residential districts – Xiasha Street and Baiyang Street, with an overall population of about 400 thousand. Xiasha has 60 sq km developable area of which 47 sq. km has been developed.

With regard to comprehensive investment environment, the development area has successively ranked among the top ten Chinese national development areas and been at the very top in Zhejiang Province for many years. It won the titles of “the best of investment environment among China’s 75 urban development areas” and “the best investment zone for transnational corporations”.

It has been branded as “national industrial park of computer and network products”, “core area of national high-tech industry base”, “national intellectual property pilot park”, “urban demonstration zone of national service outsourcing industry base”, “national logistics standardization pilot base ”, “Zhejiang logistics industry base”, “Top 10 cultural creative industrial park in Hangzhou City” and so on.

By the end of November in 2006, Hangzhou Economical Development Area has introduced foreign enterprises to invest from 30 countries and 440 regions as well as 300 domestic enterprises. 30 of the Fortune 500 companies have invested 48 projects. By now the Hangzhou Economical Development Area has formed its four pillar industries of bio-medicine, e-communication, machinery manufacturing, food and beverage.

Hangzhou Qianjiang Economic Development Area

Hangzhou Qianjiang Economic Development Area, also named Hangzhou New Industrial Area, is approved by Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government on Mar.6, 2006 and announced as a provincial development area on Apr.17, 2006. It was built from 2003 with a total planning area of 23.8 sq. km. Hangzhou Qianjiang Economic Development Area is located in the south of Yangtze River delta, to the west end of Hangzhou Bay, downstream of Qiantang River and south end of Beijing –Hangzhou Grand Canal. In the northeast of Hangzhou and near to Shanghai in the north and Ningbo in the east, it is the east gate of Hangzhou to Shanghai and Jiangsu. It is only about 150 km away from Shanghai and Ningbo Ports. With favourable location, the development zone enjoys convenient water, land and air transportations.

Highway: connected to provincial highway 09 in the east, near to national road 320 in the south, 20 km from downtown Hangzhou center square, with criss-cross Shangha-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway, Nanjing-Hangzhou Expressway and 23.14 km long arterial roads.
Railway: It is gone through by Shanghai-Hangzhou, Xuan Hang Railways and about 9 km away from Qiaosi marshalling yard (the biggest railway marshalling yard in the Eastern China) with a daily marshalling capacity of 4000 units.
Nearby port: It is only 1.5 hours’ ride to Shanghai and Ningbo Ports.
Airport: It is 2 hours’ ride to Shanghai Pudong International Airport and 35 km away from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport.

Hangzhou Yuhang Economic and Technological Development Area

Zhejiang Yuhang Economic Development Area was built in 1993 as the governing unit of China development zones association and Shenzhen international investment business council. It has an overall planning area of 51.3 sq. km and is the seat of Yuhang District Government. It is near to Chaoshan Mountain Scenic Area in the west, close to Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in the north, only 30 km away from downtown Hangzhou, about 150 km away from Shanghai and Ningbo, enjoying a favourable location and convenient transportation. This economic development area has been awarded successively for three years as an advanced industrial area in Zhejiang Province. Its investment is mainly for four industries: bio-pharmaceutical, equipment manufacturing, electronic and electric appliance, new material and commercial real estate.

Xiaoshan Economic&Technological Development Zone

Xiaoshan Economical Technological Development Area was approved by the State Council in 1993 as a national-level development zone. It has an overall planning area of 32 sq. km, including Hongken and Qianjiang farms. It also has a provincial development zone – Xiaoshan high-tech zone, and a national-level industry base –Xiaoshan expansion area of Hangzhou software industry base. The population of Xiaoshao development area is 136,000.

With 21 year’s development, Xiaoshan development area has been an open platform for commercial investment. By August in 2014, it approved 602 foreign invested projects. 30 countries and regions made investment and established their businesses. It introduced 15 enterprises of the Fortune 500, totaling 274 projects with investment over 10 million dollars. The total investment found reached 10.17 billion dollars. Xiaoshan Economical Technological Development Area has formed its pillar industry integrated with machine manufacturing, electronic and electric appliance, textile clothing, cars and auto spare parts, medicine, food, building materials and home furnishings, new materials and energy.

Hangzhou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Binjiang)

Hangzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Area is located in Binjiang District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province and built in 1991 approved by the State Council as a national-level development area. Binjiang District was approved by the State Council in 1996.

As a national-level high-tech development area, it enjoys national preferential policies. Binjiang District has the function of a government level and enjoys the special preferential policies by the municipal government and committee.

Hangzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Area has an overall planning area of 85.64 sq. km of which the north Qiantang River area is 11.4 sq. km and is the incubator of high-tech innovation, small and medium sized high-tech enterprises. The south Qiantang River area is 73 sq. km and built along the river, facing the West Lake. It will be developed into a sub-center and technical city of Hangzhou. The whole population of Hangzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Area is 230,000.

The development area has established a long-term cooperative relation with Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang Universities and else. It has introduced 78,000 talents since 2003. 250 enterprises have been established, such as Alibaba, Hundsun Electronics, Silan Microelectronics, Sunyard, Utstarcom and etc. In 2006 the development area was awarded as ISO14000 National Demonstration Zone by the Environmental Protection Administration and the Ministry of Science.

Hangzhou Linjiang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone

LinJiang High-tech Industrial Park is located to the south of Qiantang River and close to Hangzhou Bay port. It has been built since 2003 and was approved establishment in 2006 by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). In 2014, it was included into the industrial concentration area of Hangzhou Dajiangdong. On Apr.13, 2014, it was officially founded as a national-level high-tech zone as the sixth one in Zhejiang Province and the second one in Hangzhou City.

By now, Linjiang has formed leading industries of energy saving, new energy, cars and auto spare parts, machinery and equipment and CAS industry, and made efforts to foster high-tech industries like electronic information and laser equipment, as well as actively developed modern service industries including design, creativity, culture, tourism, commerce and logistics.

It has 26 key high-tech enterprises supported by the country and 25 provincial level high-tech centers. 40 high-tech companies will be established in the industrial park. It also established cooperative relations with 27 colleges and universities including Tsinghua University, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Wuhan University of Technology.

Zhejiang World Trade Center

Zhejiang World Trade Center is located on No. 122 Shuguang Road, Hangzhou. It is a comprehensive, multi-functional service facility set up in 2003 to promote international economy, trade and cultural exchange in Zhejiang province. The center has world advanced exhibition halls and is capable of holding all kinds of domestic and international exhibitions. With advanced facilities and sound services, it is now the international trade center, international conference center and international exhibition center in Hangzhou, has made great contribution to speed up the reform and open-up process in Zhejiang province and enhance the function of Hangzhou city.

Zhejiang Heping Exhibition Center

Hangzhou Peace International Conference & Exhibition Center belongs to Zhejiang Peace Industry & Trade Group Co., Ltd., primarily built in 1998, covers an area of 58,000 square meters and has 1,200 international-standard booths. 600 parking spaces on the ground and underground are available. The new hall of the center has a floor area of 61,000 square meters, with 25,370 square meters used as a supporting commercial building in the 20 floor. As one of the main venues of West Lake Expo, this center has 1670 international standard booths now. 160 big conference and exhibition have been held in this center since 2003. In 2004 it was awarded as the Best Conference & Exhibition Center of the Year 2004 by Chinese Conference & Exhibition Magazine. This center is a best place to hold all kinds of domestic and international exhibitions & conferences with its international standard service.

Zhejiang International Exhibition Center

Built in 2003, Hangzhou International Exhibition Center lies at Shixiang Road and is near Hangzhou North Bus Station. With 127,000 square meters floor area, it is now the largest and most comprehensive international exhibition center. There are 5 exhibitions halls (A Hall, B Hall, C Hall, D Hall, E Hall) covering 60,000 square meters and 3,000 international standard exhibition booths are available. A Hall and E Hall are the largest single exhibition place with an area of 15,000 square meters respectively. Nearby facilities can provide convenient services including public transportation, MICE design, propaganda promotion and hotels for exhibitors.

Zhejiang Exhibition Hall

Zhejiang Exhibition Hall was built in 1969 and now is listed on the historical buildings in Hangzhou. With superior location in Hangzhou downtown, the hall is very popular among Hangzhou citizens and is one of the most influential exhibition halls in Hangzhou. The gross floor area reaches 13,000 square meters and the exhibition area of the 9 exhibition halls surpasses 5000 square meters, 200 international standard booths are available. All kinds of exhibitions and activities can be held at the south square and north square which h has a size of 15,000 square meters. Zhejiang Exhibition Hall is an ideal place to hold exhibitions due to its convenient transportation, sound facilities and sincere services.

Hangzhou International Conference Center

Hangzhou International Conference Center is located in QianJiang New City, Hangzhou. It looks like a golden ball facing the Qiantang River and neighbors with Hangzhou Grand Theater.

By adopting strict international conference standard, this center has a function of holding conference, party, and performance, providing accommodation, entertainment, catering and leisure. The gross floor area reaches 130,000 square meters, among which the conference size reaches 21,000 square meters and the hotel covers 48, 000 square meters. The building looks like a golden ball and consists three parts: basement, annex and spherical building. The annex contains two floors: the first floor has a size of 2000 square meters, including a large banquet hall, large conference room with 1000 seats, middle-scale conference room and press conference hall. The second floor consists of many small conference rooms. In the spherical building 400 platinum five-star hotel rooms provide catering and entertainment services for customers.
